2. Legal Framework

This Privacy Policy is based on the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP, effective 1 September 2023) and the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where applicable due to visits from within the EU.

We process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content, or when you actively submit data (for example, through the contact form).

3. What Data We Process

3.1 Server Log Files

When you access our website, technically necessary data is automatically collected by the web server and stored in log files. This includes:

  • IP address of the accessing device
  • Date and time of access
  • URL accessed
  • Referrer URL
  • Browser and operating system used
  • Data volume transferred

This data is required for the secure operation of the website, error analysis, and defense against attacks. No evaluation for marketing or profiling purposes takes place. Log files are automatically deleted after 30 days at the latest, unless security-relevant events require longer retention.

3.2 Cookies and Local Storage

Our website uses technically necessary cookies and local storage mechanisms, in particular for:

  • LiteSpeed Cache: To speed up page delivery
  • Polylang: To store your preferred language (German or English)
  • WordPress Session: For the functionality of logged-in areas (administrators only)

These cookies are necessary for the operation of the website and are set without separate consent. They contain no personal tracking data and are not shared with third parties.

We do not use analytics tools such as Google Analytics, no tracking pixels from social networks, and no advertising cookies.

3.3 Contact Form

When you send us a message via our contact form, we process the following data:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Subject
  • Message content
  • Time of submission

We use this data exclusively to process your inquiry and do not use it for marketing or other purposes. Processing is based on your explicit consent, which you grant when submitting the form. Contact data is deleted once the inquiry has been conclusively processed, but no later than twelve months.

3.4 SEO Tools

For technical optimization of the website, we use the WordPress plugin Rank Math. Rank Math collects anonymized usage data on page performance that is not linked to personal data.

4. Hosting

This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. The servers are located within the European Union. A data processing agreement under GDPR standards exists with the hosting provider. Details about the hosting provider can be found at https://www.hostinger.com/privacy-policy

5. Data Sharing with Third Parties

We generally do not share your data with third parties. Exceptions only apply in the following cases:

  • When you have expressly consented
  • When there is a legal obligation to do so
  • When sharing is necessary to enforce our rights
  • When sharing with technical service providers is necessary for the provision of website functions (hosting, email delivery via Hostinger SMTP)

We do not share data commercially with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.

6. Data Transfer to Third Countries

We strive to avoid data transfers to countries outside Switzerland and the EEA. If such transfers should occur within the framework of website functionality (for example, through standard browser functions), they take place only on the basis of appropriate safeguards under Art. 16 et seq. revFADP or Art. 44 et seq. GDPR.

7. Your Rights

As a data subject, you have the right at any time to:

  • Access information about the personal data we store about you
  • Rectification of incorrect data
  • Erasure of your data, unless legal retention obligations apply
  • Restriction of processing
  • Data portability for automatically processed data
  • Object to processing
  • Withdraw granted consent with effect for the future

To exercise your rights, a simple message to our data protection address is sufficient. We will address your request within a reasonable time.

Additionally, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority in Switzerland is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, https://www.edoeb.admin.ch). EU residents may contact their respective national data protection authority.

8. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or manipulation. These include SSL/TLS encryption for the entire website, regular security updates of the software used, and access restrictions for the administration interface.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to adjust this Privacy Policy if legal changes or changes to our services require it. The current version is available on this page. The version valid at the time of your visit applies.
